Penn College students aren’t the only ones expressing their appreciation during “Give Thanks, Paw It Forward” week. Alumni are also joining the effort. David W. Stanley, a 1982 radiologic technology graduate of Penn College’s predecessor institution, Williamsport Area Community College, gives thanks for his foundations (family and collegiate) through a radiography scholarship in memory of his “great parents,” William and Evelyn Stanley.

On the second day of "Give Thanks, Paw It Forward," the gratitude campaign highlighting Penn College students' appreciation for the support they've received during their academic journeys, Lauren D. Peck's inspiring story takes flight. A member of the Air National Guard, this aviation maintenance technology student from South Williamsport is eager to discuss the transformative impact of giving.

The Pennsylvania College of Technology Foundation’s 38th Annual Golf Classic raised $120,000 recently for student scholarships. Including this year’s fundraising effort, the Penn College Foundation Golf Classic Scholarship Fund now exceeds $2.2 million. Proceeds from the Golf Classic – along with accumulated investment income – created the endowed scholarship fund, one of the foundation’s largest.

Thanks to the recent Student Government Association Auction, three Penn College students have received Student Leader Legacy Scholarships. The annual SGA Auction raised approximately $3,500, and three students were awarded $1,200 each. Over 70 supporters placed online bids or donated directly to the endowed scholarship fund.

Penn College’s Construction Management Advisory Committee met this month, and as part of their business selected recipients for several Construction Management Scholarships, totaling over $10,000 in awards. The group also selected recipients for two commencement awards.

On Wednesday, Penn College hosted Step 2 of the Pennsylvania Council on Financial Literacy’s “Dream Learn Pitch” competition for K-12 students. “The goal today is we’re helping all the students develop their business plan,” said Eric Attinger, chief communications officer for Penn CFL.

The 37th Annual Penn College Foundation Golf Classic, featuring eight-time PGA Tour and nine-time PGA Tour Champions winner Fred Funk, raised $104,215 for student scholarships at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Fifteen Student Leadership & Involvement Awards – as well as a scholarship or three – were recently presented in the Thompson Professional Development Center. The program, a heartwarming tradition of the Office of Student Engagement, honors campus leaders, their mentors among Penn College's faculty and staff, and the student organizations that have left their mark on yet another academic year.

Alumni chefs Kristina Wisneski, ’13, culinary arts & systems, and Alisha (Howell) Summa, ’12, baking & pastry arts, returned to their roots for the Visiting Chef Dinner – last held in 2019.

Friday's meeting of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Construction Management Advisory Committee, many of them alumni and all of them strongly aware of the college's reliable contribution to tomorrow's workforce, featured more than thousands of dollars in student scholarships.
